The movie is about a group of friends and lovers who start their own "kabaddi club" which takes on the form of a business. They recruit new members and play against other clubs, but soon find themselves at odds with local political factions. The movie climaxes with a league tournament and a "kabaddi-angry" protest by the local people. The first shooting of the movie on New Year's Eve 2002 was held at Maharashtra's Borivali National Park on a bison herd. The second shooting was held in Gujarat's Bharuch district where the script required high-quality hunting scenes. The third shooting took place in Bombay, during which songs choreographed by Farah Khan were shot for the film. On 28 September 2003, principal photography ended in Mumbai (Mumbai Mahila Seva Mandal). "Mere Yaar Ki Shaadi Hai" is produced by Vipul Shah under his banner of Film Krafts. The Director of the film was Chandrashekhar Jha, who had previously directed "Hollywood Dreams" and "Shri 420". It stars Rishi Kapoor, Sonali Bendre, Randhir Kapoor and Lilette Dubey in lead roles. The film also stars Brijendra Kala, Nirupa Roy, Vijay Raaz and Shweta Menon.The music is composed by Nadeem-Shravan with lyrics penned by Sameer. The soundtrack album consists of 9 songs and was released in December 2003.
